The ATH Board of Directors actively establishes and maintains the compelling vision, direction, and strategy for the Company, ensuring the delivery and enhancement of long-term sustainable value to its shareholders. The Board consists of seven Non-Executive Directors, including four Strategic Investor Directors appointed by the FNPF as the majority Shareholder and Strategic Investor. Additionally, three Fiji Directors are elected by other shareholders during the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Joe Taoi

Mr Taoi is an industry expert who has 30 years of experience in the international shipping, warehouse & distribution, supply chain management and trade facilitation advisor. His career commenced as a management cadet for Burns Phillip Shipping, not long after he joined an internationally courier company (DHL), as Country Manager.
In 1995, Mr Taoi established Freight Services Fiji (FSF), a family owned logistics & moving company. FSF is a certified international organization of standardization (ISO 9001) and FAIM certified member of FIDI Global Alliance. FSF offers a suite of services that includes international forwarding & moving, licensed customhouse broker, bonded transit depot, storage, 3PL provider and haulage services.
Mr Taoi was a member of various boards relevant and crucial to export trade, financial and private sector development in Fiji. He was actively involved in the establishment of National Trade Facilitation Council (Fiji and Pacific), Fiji Export Councils, Fiji PNG Business Council and Fiji Indigenous Business Council – a forum that encourages i-Taukei participation in commerce via mainstream engagement and lobbying; he was the Secretary to the Textile Clothing & Footwear Council of Fiji (TCF). Mr Taoi was the former President of the Fiji - Papua New Guinea Business Council and was a past member of the Fiji - New Zealand Business Council and Merchant Finance Limited from 2013 to 2016. Mr Taoi is affluent with the International Trade Facilitation & Investment Fiji and the Pacific.
FSF holds ISO 9001 certification and is a FAIM certified member of FIDI Global Alliance, offering a comprehensive range of services such as international forwarding, customhouse brokerage, storage, and haulage. Mr. Taoi actively participated in various boards and councils vital to export trade, private sector development, and indigenous business engagement in Fiji. Notably, he played a significant role in establishing the National Trade Facilitation Council, Fiji Export Councils, and Fiji Indigenous Business Council.
His extensive involvement in business councils further includes serving as the former President of the Fiji-Papua New Guinea Business Council and as a member of the Fiji-New Zealand Business Council. Mr. Taoi possesses in-depth knowledge of International Trade Facilitation and Investment in Fiji and the Pacific.

Viliame Baleitavua Vodonaivalu

Mr Viliame Baleitavua Vodonaivalu was appointed on the ATH Board on 16 December 2020. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), a post he was promoted to on 11 August 2021. He was previously the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), a post he held since 2017. Prior to taking up the CIO position, he held, from 2015 to 2017, various executive roles at the Vanuatu National Provident Fund. He was the Lead Consultant for the Melanesian Spearhead Group from 2014 to 2015. He held various managerial roles at Westpac Pacific Banking from 2005 to 2006 and from 2008 to 2014. Mr Vodonaivalu held various executive roles in FNPF from 2006 to 2008 and managerial roles at ANZ Bank from 2001 to 2005 and Air Pacific Limited from 2000 to 2001. Mr Vodonaivalu holds a Masters in Applied Finance from the University of Melbourne, a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance from Victoria University, and a Bachelor of Arts Majoring in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of the South Pacific. He is energetic, result driven and a self-motivated individual with interest in the next level of leadership. He brings exceptional strategic, analytical and conceptual direction for the smooth running of reputable organisations. He is well versed in maintaining organisation effectiveness and longevity.

Daksesh Patel

Daksesh (Dak) is a respected businessman, leader and entrepreneur with extensive experience in the Australian steel industry. Dak is the Interim CEO & Executive Director of InfraBuild, Australia’s largest integrated manufacturer and supplier of long steel products and solutions. Dak has held senior leadership roles in privately-held businesses operating throughout the Oceania region. These businesses own and operate diversified portfolios in manufacturing, distribution and building products, including the steel industry, and collectively employ over 2000 people. Dak became Chairman of Energy Fiji limited in 2016 and oversaw its transition from a government owned statutory body into a newly corporatised entity in 2018. From 2019 to current, under Dak’s leadership, EFL achieved partial divestment with an aim to eventually list on the local stock exchange positioned as one of the few utilities in the region achieving a sustainable level of return on assets. Determined to drive a sustainable future, Dak is a key supporter of EFL’s commitment to the cultivation of clean, renewable sources of energy. In 2020 Dak became Chairman of the Fiji National Provident Fund. The Fiji National Provident Fund is Fiji's largest financial institution. FNPF are the only superannuation fund that is mandated by law to collect compulsory contributions. On 30th June 2022 Dak was appointed as a Director of Air Pacific Limited, T/A Fiji Airways and Fiji Airlines Pte Limited. He is also the Founder and Principal Shareholder of Mesh & Bar Pty Limited. Dak is married with two children and loves rugby union.

Attar Singh

Mr Attar Singh is a respected Trade Unionist & Leader with over 40 years of experience as a Trade Unionist. Mr Singh currently sits on the National OSH Advisory Board, the Employment Relations Advisory Board and is an Assistant National Secretary of the Fiji Trades Union Congress (FTUC). Since 2019, Mr Singh has been the Industrial Relations Advisor for the National Union of Municipal Workers and the Fiji Airline Pilots Association and the General Secretary for the Fiji Longshoremen & Staff Association. Mr Singh has previously served as the General Secretary of various Unions in Fiji including the Fiji Mineworkers & Staff Union, Communication, Mining and General Workers Union, Transport Workers Union, Fiji Aviation Workers Association, the Air Pacific Employees Association and as the president of the Fiji Cane Growers Association. During his long union career, he has led or advised airline workers including pilots, flight attendants, engineers and other airline staff, telecommunications workers, postal workers, miners, port workers and sugarcane farmers. Mr Singh has served on the Executive Board of the Union Network International, UNI's Asia-Pacific organisation and as the Secretary of Fiji Liaison Committee. He has also held the position of Secretary for the Coordinating Committee of Fiji of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF). Both, UNI and ITF are Global Union federations representing millions of workers worldwide. Mr Singh is an experienced advocate in industrial disputes for workers and unions and has been appearing on their behalf in the Arbitration Court, Employment Tribunal and previously, in the Arbitration Tribunal for over three decades. Mr Singh was trained as a Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in avionics and worked for Air Pacific Limited. He also holds a Diploma in Industrial Relations from the Victoria University of Wellington. His interests in aviation led him to pursue flying and has previously held a Private Pilot’s Licence from New Zealand. Mr Singh is originally from Labasa, he is married and resides in Suva with his family and grandchildren.

Vilash Chand

Mr Vilash Chand was appointed to the ATH Board on 20 October 2022 as a nominee of the Fiji Government. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Unit Trust of Fiji. He also serves on various Board such as HFC Bank, FINTEL, FPCL and Marsh Fiji. Mr Chand brings expertise in areas such as finance, funds management, investments, risk management, governance, etc. Mr Chand hold Master’s in Professional Accounting, Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Investments and a Bachelor of Accounting and Economics.

Peter Chan

Peter Chan is a financially orientated Director with range, broad cross-functional operations experience over 30 years in Telco/ICT managed services delivery value chain across Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. His previous executive roles covered Transformation and turn around to profitability, Start-Up & Growth, Customer Success, Business Development, Sales, Vendor/Contract Management, Customer Service Delivery and Commercial Operations. Prior to Smartech, Peter Chan worked for Telstra Australia as Head of Service, and at Singtel Optus in a variety of general management and leadership roles. Peter spent 11 years in New Zealand with several multinationals in various financial accounting roles, including BellSouth's start-up as the first GSM mobile network operator in the southern hemisphere. Peter graduated from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch with a Bachelor of Commerce (Major: Accounting, Minor: Computing/Management Information Systems) and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Tanya Waqanika

Ms Tanya Waqanika is the Principal of Waqanika Law since 2016. The law firm handles Commercial, Family, Criminal, Employment, Immigration and Conveyancing matters. She started her career at the Prime Minister’s Office in 1997, she also served as a Legal Officer at the Attorney General Chambers, inland Revenue (FRCS), Suva City Council and Fiji Television Limited. At Fiji TV Ltd, she held the position of Group Company Secretary/Legal Counsel and Head of Programs and Production. Ms Waqanika graduated with a Law Degree in 1996 from Bond University, QLD, Australia and she was admitted to the New South Wales Supreme Court and High Court of Fiji in 1997 respectively.
